Biovet has recently developed a multiplex real-time PCR (qPCR) test to detect and differentiate the 4 of the most frequent species of coagulase negative Staphylococci (CNS) i.e. S. chromogenes, S. epidermidis, S. simulans and S. xylosus.

The qPCR CNS test is a complementary tool to the culture and can help you to improve the control of mammary infections by more precisely identifying the CNS.

It will be performed upon request either directly from milk samples (as for PCR Staph. aureus, etc.) or from isolates obtained after culture (in this case, the costs will be added to those of the culture).
In both cases, the test will be performed every business day.

Moreover, the test will also be offered in addition to the PCR tests for the main other mammary infectious agents:

  • qPCR S. aureus + S. agalactiae + CNS
  • qPCR S. aureus + S. agalactiae + S. uberis + S. dysgalactiae + CNS
  • qPCR S. aureus + S. agalactiae + S. uberis + S. dysgalactiae + M. bovis + CNS
